"Shoot Portraits, Not People" Is an Art Installation With Guns Created From Cameras

“Art is in the eye of the beholder” couldn’t hold more true than in the case of photographer Jason Siegel and his new art installation titled “Shoot Portraits, Not People”. Mixing hand-picked camera equipment from over 200 pounds of sourced product to create guns and weapons, Siegel and Denver-based metal sculptor Keith D’Angelo find their outlet to express the idea behind shooting portraits instead of people. The immersive installation draws inspiration from the idea of mixing tool and technique to create and connects the idea that guns and cameras are both provocative tools. The installation debuts tonight in Aspen, Colorado at The BLK MKT gallery.
